Le Mars, Iowa—celebrated as the “Ice Cream Capital of the World”—boasts a delightful public art display: over 55 six-foot-tall fiberglass ice cream cone sculptures scattered throughout the city. Each sculpture is uniquely hand-painted by local and regional artists, often reflecting the character of nearby businesses or community themes.
Locations: The sculptures are strategically placed across Le Mars, adorning sidewalks, parks, and storefronts. Notable spots include the Wells Visitor Center & Ice Cream Parlor, Habitue Coffeehouse, and the local movie theater.
Designs Each cone features a distinct design—ranging from Girl Scout motifs to cinema themes—adding a touch of whimsy and local flavor to the cityscape.
